3 Father’s Day Gifts Dad Will Probably Lose - Let Tile App Help

Father's Day is just around the corner which means you're likely deciding between one of a few go-to gifts we all think of for Dad: a necktie, a cool tech gadget, maybe something outdoorsy. As we were thinking about how to celebrate the dads in our lives, we noticed that nine of the ten items most often marked as lost by the Tile community are also on Marketwatch's list of the most popular Father's Day gifts. If you've gone a traditional route for Dad, chances are that he's going to misplace your gift at some point.

So, consider yourselves warned. Here are the top three Father's Day gifts your dad is probably going to lose:

  1. Electronic gadgets: Gadgets are the second most common Father's Day gift; in 2013, consumers spent about $1.7 billion buying electronics for their dads. In 2014, a lot of people probably had to replace those gifts, because laptops, camera bags, remotes, Kindles and headphones are all on our list of the top ten most misplaced items.
  2. Clothing: Before there were wearables, there were clothes, and these come in at number three on Marketwatch's list, costing consumers about $1.8 billion in 2013. But you should probably take a picture of Dad wearing what you buy him - luggage, which is usually full of dad's favorite clothes, and wallets both rank in our top ten most commonly misplaced items in the Tile community.
  3. Automotive accessories: Lucky dads in 2013 received $592 million worth of car stuff, coming in at #8 on Marketwatch's list. But unlucky dads (and other Tilers) lose their keys more than anything else, which makes the cars and all of the accessories pretty useless. And there's nothing scarier for the gearhead Dad than losing the car itself.

Luckily, there's one gadget that can ensure no gift will go unfound. Tilers have found lots of luggage, and some members even use Tile to make sure their luggage never gets lost in the first place. This guy found the blazer he lost at a party and this guy has Tiled his wallet twice. And if you splurged on a car (or key ring) for Dad, rest easy knowing that the community will step in if it ever ends up 100+ miles away.

Last year, more dads than ever had "spending quality time with family" at the top of their Father's Day wishlist. Help your dad spend less time looking for the great gifts you bought him and more time with you. Then tell us which Father's Day gifts you wish you had Tiled.
